When Santander Bank moved into the Philadelphia market, they looked to the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School as community partners. The Bank’s multi-year collaboration with The Joseph H. Lauder Institute for Management & International Studies—a joint venture between The Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Arts and Sciences—has resulted in programming and events that address critical global economic issues. Since 2011, the annual Globalization TrendLab conference has demonstrated both organizations’ commitment to expanding and sharing knowledge on a local and global scale.
In addition to their academic collaborations, Santander and Wharton have amplified their relationship across campus and the alumni network at events, in print, and on the web. The two organizations were pleased to stand together at the opening of Santander’s first West Philadelphia branch in 2014. “It’s our utmost goal to serve our communities, and our partnership with Wharton and Penn reflects that.”
